The firm

The principals.

A principals' firm. Every engagement is led by one of them.

The model

AGRIFY is, and remains, a principals' firm — a small number of senior people doing serious work for a select group of clients.

Three principals, with cumulative careers across investment, institutional & corporate banking, agribusiness and listed-company boards, and a client base spanning Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.  The firm works with a small number of clients at any one time.  Capacity is finite; selectivity is part of the offer.  Senior work is not delegated — clients are not handed off after the pitch.

Principal

Dale Champion

Founder & Principal

Dale founded AGRIFY in 2010, after an extensive career encompassing institutional, corporate and commodity finance leadership across organisations including HSBC, Commonwealth Bank and Elders. His clients are the principals of substantial agricultural and adjacent businesses; his work is the strategy, capital and asset-transition counsel they require at the points of consequential decision.

He writes and negotiates for owners, principals and CEO's rather than institutions, and leads each engagement himself — the posture the firm was built to hold: peer to the principal, not service provider to the entity.

Steve Barker

Partner

Steve builds relationships that outlast the work that started them. Across a long career in corporate banking and financial services engaging a broad range of industries, the constant has been the trust that carries from one engagement to the next — clients who become friends, and friendships grounded in real business and personal respect.

That standing is earned by adding value before being asked; reading where a business is heading, spotting the opportunities others haven't yet framed, and bringing the right people to the ones that work for both sides. The work spans developers and project principals, through to boards, partners and the people who make the final call — rooms where advice is only ever worth as much as the relationship behind it.

Mark Randell

Partner

Mark grew up in the Adelaide Hills on a family dairy and beef property with a small apple and pear orchard, and agriculture has run through everything since. With more than two decades on the buy side of the livestock and meat supply chain — family farms through to national corporates — Mark has built the kind of relationships that last, grounded in personal respect as much as business, and earned the trust of producers and agents who know he's sat on their side of the deal.

He has a feel for risk, timing and price, an eye for where supply chains will tighten, and the financial knowledge to match opportunity for both sides before it's obvious.

Today he brings that operating depth to the people and businesses he works with — turning timing on the ground into sharper judgement about where value sits.
